For the purpose of sports betting, when would a baseball game be final?
Wagers will have action even if base ball games are not played to the end. The following guidelines are used to settle wagers: a moneyline wager will be official after five full innings. (Four and a half innings in case the home team wins).
Total/Runline wagers on baseball games become officially documented after nine innings of play. If the home team is ahead, the game will last for 8 1/2 innings.. A game that is stopped prior to completion of 9 innings played will result in Total and Runline bets settling as No Action. If a game is NOT finished and runs for more than eight innings For example, a game may be shortened due to rain, suspension, or darkness. Runline and Total still have action and will be settled according to rule 3 below.
After 9 or more innings and the game isn’t finished (i.e. stopped, rain delay, or lack of light)action will still be occurring on wagers of the runtime and total.
If a game is suspended, the score as of the last finished inning will be the offical score for all bets, unless the score is changed by the home team within their part of the inning. In such case, the score at suspending time will serve to settle each wager.
Bets on delayed games aren’t held over to another time.
